RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour day shifts from 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM
• Work every other weekend with 2-3 holidays required from Thanksgiving to New Years
• Maintain nurse to patient ratios of 1:5-6 on a 25-bed Med Surg Neuro unit
• Care for med/surg tele patients including strokes, stable neurological deficits, post neurosurgery procedures, and general med surg overflow
• Handle common diagnoses including joint replacements, fractures, colon resections, COPD exacerbations, prostatectomy, cellulitis, sepsis, ortho trauma, GI bleeds, pneumonia, and failure to thrive
• Titrate drips including heparin, lidocaine, ketamine, and manage PCA pumps
• Float to other medical surgical areas or units with med surg patients as needed
• Participate in hourly rounding and maintain high responsiveness standards
• Manage multiple discharges and admissions daily
• Must pass open book exam on Friday during orientation with 90% score to continue
• Work with diverse patient population including Spanish, Karen, and Burmese speaking patients
• Required certifications: BLS (AHA) and NIHSS
• 2-day unit-specific orientation provided
• Chart using EPIC system
• Dress code requires navy blue scrubs
• Must live outside 50-mile radius and have valid driver's license
• Travel experience preferred but will consider strong candidates without
• Artificial nails prohibited in patient care areas
