RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour shifts with possible schedules: 10:00 AM - 10:00 PM, 12:00 PM - 12:00 AM, or 6:00 PM - 6:00 AM
• Primary focus on night shifts
• Block scheduling utilized with scheduler coordination
• Work every other weekend requirement
• Holiday requirements: one winter holiday (Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year's) and one summer holiday (Memorial Day, 4th of July, or Labor Day)
• No call or standby requirements
• No floating requirements
• Must live within 50-mile radius of facility
• Variable nurse-to-patient ratios, maximum 3-4 to 1 during peak periods
• Treat approximately 40 patients per day with about 20% pediatric volume
• Common diagnoses include abdominal pain, falls, chest pain
• Manage common drips: antibiotics, cardiac medications, Heparin, TPA, insulin
• Required to read own cardiac monitor strips using Phillips monitors
• Perform 12-lead EKGs, lab draws when starting IVs
• Charge nurse role may include taking patients
• 3-shift orientation with another nurse
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, TNCC, PALS or ENPC
• Preferably 3+ years of ED experience with strong communication and assessment skills
• Travel experience preferred but not required
• BSN not required
• Gray scrubs provided by facility
• EPIC charting system

Facility:

This healthcare organization operates a state-certified Level III trauma center and Primary Stroke Center. The emergency department features 2 triage beds, 2 trauma bays, and 7 additional beds with one seclusion room for psychiatric patients. The facility maintains 24/7 in-house security, respiratory therapy, and house supervision. A board-certified emergency physician is available around the clock, supported by nurse practitioners or physician assistants during mid-shifts. The facility includes convenient access to CT, MRI, and X-ray services directly adjacent to the emergency department.
