RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Job Details:

• Work three 12-hour night shifts per week from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Rotating weekends and holidays required (every other weekend - nights are Friday/Saturday)
• Will consider 48-hour shifts
• Opportunities for precepting and charge nurse responsibilities
• Maintain 1:5 patient ratio for both day and night shifts
• Required certifications: ACLS (AHA) and BLS (AHA)
• BSN degree not required
• Must read telemetry strips every 4 hours and document rhythm review in patient chart
• Manage set-rate drips including Cardizem, Amiodarone, Labetalol, Dopamine, Dobutamine, Heparin, Integrilin, and Nitroglycerin
• Care for patients with elevated troponin, active chest pain, pre/post catheterization, STEMI/NSTEMI, pacemakers, and occasional post-surgical patients
• Rarely required to float but may assist ICU overflow or ortho/medical-surgical units
• Use EPIC electronic medical record system and Kronos scheduling system
• Floor-specific orientation of 1-2 days depending on experience
• Dress code: Navy blue scrubs with navy or white jacket, white or navy undershirt, natural hair color required, distasteful tattoos must be covered
• Client may cancel 2 shifts per 13-week assignment and 1 shift for assignments less than 13 weeks

Facility:

This medical center operates progressive care and telemetry units consisting of two floors with a total of 42 beds. The facility features modern Phillips cardiac monitoring systems with central monitoring stations and plans to expand stepdown capabilities. The organization maintains 24/7 hospitalist coverage, respiratory therapy, and pharmacy services with in-house support. The facility uses advanced integration where monitor data flows directly into the EPIC system and provides comprehensive cardiac care including pre and post-catheterization patients.
