RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Job Details:

• Work Sunday through Thursday night shifts from 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Must be strong and capable of being the only RN during these hours, taking charge and posting cases
• 2-3 years of OR specialty experience required, plus 2-3 previous travel assignments
• Orthopedic and neurology experience preferred
• Required certifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS, and PALS
• 1:1 nurse-to-patient ratio in OR
• One weeknight on-call requirement from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• One weekend day on-call requirement from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM per month
• Call response time must be within 20 minutes
• 3-shift floor-specific orientation provided
• No floating between units
• Work with EPIC charting system
• Handle all surgical cases except open heart procedures
• Common cases include neuro spine, total joints, open fractures, general surgery, and ENT
• Scrubs provided by facility
• Scrubbing ability is a plus but not required
• Driver's license address must be outside 50 miles from facility

This medical center features a comprehensive surgical department with 14 operating suites handling an average of 28 cases per day plus 5 add-on cases. The facility maintains a well-equipped OR environment with in-house respiratory therapy available 24/7, pharmacy services with Omnicell technology, and anesthesia support for monitoring. The surgical program covers a wide range of specialties and maintains high standards for patient care with experienced charge nurses available during day shifts.
