RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Job Details:

• Work four 12-hour night shifts per week (7:00 PM to 7:30 AM) for 48 hours total
• Rotating weekends required (every other weekend - Friday/Saturday nights)
• Holiday coverage required based on unit needs
• Patient ratio of 1:5 for both day and night shifts
• Required certifications: ACLS (AHA) and BLS (AHA)
• Work with telemetry patients including elevated troponin levels, active chest pain, pre/post cardiac catheterization, NSTEMI, peritoneal dialysis, pacemaker patients, and occasional post-surgical patients
• Manage set-rate drips including Cardizem, Amiodarone, Labetalol, Dopamine, Dobutamine, Heparin, Integrilin, and Nitroglycerin
• Monitor Phillips Cardiac Monitors with required strip reading every 4 hours
• Document in EPIC electronic medical record system
• Dress code requires navy blue scrubs with navy or white jacket, natural hair colors only
• Rare floating opportunities to ICU overflow, ortho, or med-surg units
• 1-2 day orientation period depending on experience
• Schedule requests made through Kronos system at least 2 weeks in advance
• Opportunities for precepting and charge responsibilities available

Facility:

This healthcare facility operates a progressive care unit/telemetry department with two floors totaling 42 beds. The facility features modern Phillips cardiac monitoring systems, 24/7 hospitalist coverage, in-house respiratory therapy and pharmacy services. The organization utilizes EPIC electronic medical records and maintains comprehensive support services including monitor technicians and patient care technicians. Future expansion plans include converting one floor to a higher-acuity stepdown unit with enhanced capabilities for titrating drips and managing more complex patients.
