RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour shifts: 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM or 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Weekend requirement every other weekend (Days: Sat/Sun, Nights: Fri/Sat/Sun)
• Self-scheduling and block scheduling allowed based on unit needs
• Patient ratio 1:4 with 30-bed Advanced Care Unit featuring all private rooms
• Must have stepdown acuity experience and ability to read cardiac strips
• Required to titrate drips including Cardizem, Insulin, and Heparin
• Care for stroke, trauma, and vascular patients including fempops, carotids, DKA, AKA, and post-catheterization patients
• Must be able to verify and sign-off on cardiac monitor strips
• May be required to float to Med/Surg, Telemetry, ICU, or CV Stepdown units
• Required certifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), NIHSS
• Royal blue scrubs required with proper scrub jackets only
• 3-day orientation including HR, clinical educator, and unit shadowing
• EPIC charting system
• Valid driver's license copy required for submission
• Call/standby requirements are very rare
• Client may cancel 2 shifts per 13-week assignment

The facility features all private rooms and maintains 24/7 charge nurse coverage with monitor technicians and patient care technicians supporting the nursing staff. The organization uses EPIC charting systems and provides comprehensive orientation programs for new staff members. The unit handles complex cases including carotid procedures, post-catheterization care, and various acute medical conditions requiring stepdown level monitoring and intervention.
