RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour day shifts (7:00 AM to 7:00 PM)
• Weekend requirement: every other weekend
• Nurse to patient ratios: 1:5-7 on day shifts, 1:6-8 on night shifts
• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience required
• First-time travelers accepted
• Required certifications: BLS and RN license
• Can take PCT class to become PCT or have CNA certification
• Required to titrate drips including heparin, bumex, and lasix (no cardiac drip titration)
• May be required to participate in holiday rotation
• Floating requirements to other medical-surgical, medical-surgical telemetry, or intermediate care units for lower acuity patients
• Dress code: Navy blue scrubs for RNs
• 2-day orientation: 1 day educator/computer system, 1 day with preceptor
• Charting system: Cerner
• Common patient diagnoses: pneumonia, UTI, altered mental status, GI bleed, alcohol withdrawal, falls/weakness
• No call or standby requirements
• BSN not required
• Must provide copy of unexpired driver's license (50 mile radius rule applies)
• Any licensing hits must be disclosed at time of submission

Facility:

This medical center features a 48-bed medical-surgical unit providing comprehensive acute care services. The facility maintains dedicated respiratory therapists who manage breathing treatments and respiratory equipment, while monitor technicians provide centralized telemetry monitoring services. The unit is staffed with charge nurses on each shift and patient care technicians who assist with vital signs, blood glucose monitoring, EKGs, and patient care activities. The organization utilizes modern electronic health record systems and provides structured orientation programs for new staff members.
