RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM or 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Every other weekend required (Saturday/Sunday for day shift, Friday/Saturday for night shift)
• Rotating holidays including Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years
• Cannot accommodate blocked schedules at this time
• Self-scheduling allowed for travelers
• Nurse to patient ratio of 1:5 for telemetry patients
• Work on 2nd floor unit with 20 beds, all private rooms
• Care for patients with various diagnoses including telemetry, post catheterization, medical/surgical with telemetry monitoring needs, and respiratory difficulty
• Perform point of care testing including blood sugar using AccuChek glucometer
• Place IVs and draw labs from central lines when ordered
• Basic understanding and comfort with dysrhythmias required
• May float to comparable or lower level units (telemetry or med/surg)
• Orientation includes first day education modules and shadowing, second shift orientation, third shift independent
• May be asked to precept or charge based on comfort level and unit needs
• Call offs must be made 2 hours prior to shift start
• Cancellation policy: 2 shifts per 13-week assignment, 1 shift for assignments less than 13 weeks
• Required certifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), NIHSS
• 5 years RN experience required with at least 1 year travel experience
• EPIC charting system experience preferred
• Driver's license required with address outside 50 miles from facility
• Dress code: Navy blue scrubs (self-provided)

This acute care medical center operates a 20-bed telemetry unit on the second floor featuring all private rooms. The facility maintains comprehensive cardiac monitoring capabilities with both hardwired and portable telemetry systems monitored by dedicated technicians. The unit provides 24/7 hospitalist coverage, respiratory therapy services, and unit-based pharmacy support during business hours with around-the-clock main pharmacy coverage. The facility utilizes EPIC charting systems and maintains modern medical equipment to support diverse patient care needs in the telemetry setting.
