RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Job Details:

• Work night shifts with three 12-hour shifts per week
• Shift times: 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM
• Rotate every other weekend (Friday-Saturday or Saturday-Monday) and major holidays
• Nurse to patient ratio: 1:2, sometimes 1:3 patients
• Two years of critical care experience required, travel experience required
• Required certifications: BLS (AHA) and ACLS (AHA)
• Preferred certifications: PALS, NIHSS, TNCC
• Care for critically ill patients with complex needs and life-threatening conditions
• Manage invasive and non-invasive hemodynamic monitoring
• Common diagnoses include sepsis, acute MI, renal patients, post vascular procedures, strokes, TIA, seizures
• Manage lumbar drains, ARDS with ventilator management, CV procedures
• Titrate critical drips including vasopressors and sedation (Levophed, Cardizem, Amiodarone, Heparin, Insulin)
• CRRT and IABP experience preferred, Impella experience preferred
• Serve adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient populations
• Read telemetry strips (no monitor tech)
• Required to float to Stepdown, Med-Surg/Telemetry, or Emergency Department as needed
• Dress code: Navy scrubs (solid color only, no embroidery or patterns), closed-toe shoes only
• Use EPIC charting system
• Comprehensive orientation including hospital orientation, nursing orientation, computer training, and two 12-hour preceptor shifts

This acute care facility features an 18-bed ICU that will expand to 27 beds, providing critical care services with 24/7 hospitalist coverage and intensivist support. The facility offers comprehensive critical care capabilities including hemodynamic monitoring, mechanical ventilation, specialty beds, and advanced cardiac support systems. The organization maintains high standards for critical care with dedicated charge nurses, respiratory therapy support, and modern medical equipment to support complex patient needs.
