RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Job Details:

• Work in a 24-bed emergency department with 4 critical rooms and 1 trauma room
• Level 4 trauma center serving as STEMI receiving stroke center
• Treat 80-110 patients daily with common diagnoses including chest pain, abdominal pain, minor trauma, and respiratory distress
• Nurse to patient ratios: 1:4 for general ED, 1:2 or 1:1 for ICU patients depending on acuity
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, ENPC or PALS, TNCC
• Minimum 2 years emergency department experience required
• Must have skills in conscious sedation, critical thinking, and AMI management
• Weekend requirements: every other weekend (Saturday/Sunday for days, Friday/Saturday for nights)
• Holiday requirements: must work some major holidays including July 4th, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year's Eve/Day
• On-call requirement: 2 on-call shifts per 28-day schedule
• Float between east and west emergency departments only, generally pre-scheduled
• Dress code: navy blue dignity scrubs
• Charting system: Cerner
• Hospital orientation includes two days plus one 12-hour shift at each ED location with mentor
• BSN not required

The facility features separate triage areas, two well-equipped psychiatric/seclusion rooms, and uses an intake model for lower acuity patients. The emergency department maintains 24/7 security presence, respiratory therapy services, and has radiology services adjacent to the ED. The facility employs experienced emergency physicians and mid-level providers around the clock, with dedicated ED technicians and paramedics to support patient care.
