RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

RN - Stepdown

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Three 12-hour shifts per week with flexibility required for scheduling
• Weekend requirement of every other weekend or 2 weekend shifts per schedule
• Holiday rotation participation required
• Nurse to patient ratio of 1:3 for stepdown patients and 1:5-6 for EMU floor patients
• Care for higher acuity neuroscience patients including strokes, seizures, craniotomies, and EVD patients
• Manage patients in Neuro Stepdown and Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU)
• Required certifications: BLS and NIHSS (ACLS preferred)
• Strong neuroscience experience required with history of caring for stroke patients
• EPIC experience required
• Royal blue scrubs required
• Two-shift unit orientation provided
• Floating may be required to other units (7E, 7W, 7NE, or 10W)
• Cancellation policy allows up to 2 shifts per 13-week contract
• Must have NIHSS certification in hand at time of submission
• Charge nurse available 24/7 with nurse aids on unit (1:8-9 ratio)
• Telemetry monitoring available with monitor techs reading strips

The facility operates a 31-bed unit with 25 stepdown beds and 6 epilepsy monitoring unit beds, providing advanced neurological care for higher acuity patients. The organization maintains 24/7 respiratory therapy services and specialized equipment including floor ventilators, with charge nurses available around the clock to support patient care and staff.
