RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour shifts: Days 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM or Nights 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM
• Weekend requirement: Every other weekend for travelers
• Weekend shifts for nights include Friday/Saturday/Sunday/Monday; days include Saturday/Sunday
• Average patient ratios 1:5 (can flex up to 1:6)
• Self-scheduling allowed with block schedule accommodation when unit needs are met
• Required certifications: BLS (AHA) and ACLS (AHA)
• Must be able to read cardiac strips and be comfortable with cardiac telemetry patients
• Must be able to titrate Heparin drips and occasionally Lasix or Bumex
• Care for post heart catheterization patients, CHF, COPD, post pacemaker patients, and cardiac arrhythmias
• Must be able to perform EKGs when needed
• Expected to complete own admissions and discharges (8-12 per day)
• May be floated to other units including ICU and stepdown within skillset
• Dress code: Royal blue scrubs required
• Orientation includes 1 day computer training and 1 day floor shadowing
• Charting system: EPIC
• BSN not required
• Must submit unexpired copy of driver's license with application

The unit operates as part of a larger hospital system with access to monitor technicians, charge nurses 24/7, and a central monitoring station for the entire North Tower.
