RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

RN - Med Surg Stepdown

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts with 3x12 schedule
• 36-hour guarantee with 3 cancellations allowed per 13 weeks
• Every other weekend requirement (nights Friday & Saturday)
• 18-bed telemetry unit with 6 PCU capable beds, all private rooms
• RN to patient ratios: 1:4 for telemetry, 1:3 for PCU/Stepdown
• 1 year of telemetry experience required, 2 years preferred
• MedSurg acute care setting experience required
• Required certifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), NIHSS
• 2-3 day orientation with preceptor
• Use Phillips monitors with monitor tech room support
• Validate monitor tech interpretations and document every 4 hours or as needed
• Administer medications including Cardizem, amiodarone, bumex, Lasix, integrillin, octreotide, protonix
• Manage high flow oxygen for COVID stepdown patients and home CPAP
• Common diagnoses: AMI, Stroke/TIA, pneumonia, renal/dialysis, afib RVR, SIRS, diabetes
• May float to all Med Surg units
• Charting system: Allscripts
• Support staff includes tele techs, charge nurse, HUCs, PCTs, and CNAs
• 24/7 hospitalist, respiratory therapist, and pharmacy support available
• BSN not required
