RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

RN - Med Surg

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour day/night rotating shifts (7:00 AM to 7:00 PM / 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM)
• Weekend requirement: every other weekend
• May be placed in holiday rotation
• Nurse to patient ratios: 1:5-7 on days, 1:6-8 on nights
• Must have minimum 1 year of nursing experience
• Will accept first-time travelers
• Required certifications: BLS, RN License
• Can take PCT class to become PCT or have CNA certification
• Required to titrate drips including heparin, bumex, and lasix (no cardiac drip titration)
• Floating requirements to other Med Surg, Med Surg-Tele, or IMC units for lower acuity patients
• Common patient diagnoses include pneumonia, UTI, altered mental status, GI bleed, alcohol withdrawal, falls/weakness
• Dress code: Navy blue scrubs for RNs
• Charting system: EPIC
• Orientation: 1 day educator/computer system training, 1 day with preceptor
• No call or standby requirements
• Must submit copy of unexpired driver's license (50-mile radius rule)
• Schedule flexibility required to fill gaps in permanent schedule
• If working rotating shifts, schedules spread out over 2 weeks of days/2 weeks of nights

This medical center is a 48-bed acute care facility that provides comprehensive medical and surgical services to the community. The facility features modern technology including telemetry monitoring with dedicated monitor technicians, respiratory therapy services, and EPIC charting systems. The organization maintains appropriate staffing ratios and provides support services including patient care technicians and respiratory therapists to ensure quality patient care across multiple medical specialties.
