RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Job Details:

• Work 3 twelve-hour shifts per week
• Day shift: 6:45 AM - 7:15 PM or night shift: 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM
• Patient ratios: 1 nurse to 2 patients, sometimes 3 patients in ICU
• Required certifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA)
• Preferred certifications: PALS, NIHSS, TNCC
• Two years of critical care experience required
• Travel experience required
• ICU experience with CRRT and IABP preferred, Impella experience preferred
• Care for critically ill patients with complex needs and life-threatening conditions
• Handle invasive and non-invasive hemodynamic monitoring
• Manage patients with sepsis, acute MI, renal conditions, post-vascular procedures, strokes, TIA, seizures
• Work with lumbar drains, ARDS patients requiring ventilator management
• Titrate critical drips including vasopressors and sedation medications
• Common titratable drips: Levophed, Cardizem, Amiodarone, Heparin, Insulin
• Serve adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient populations
• Read telemetry strips as no monitor tech available
• Float to Stepdown, Med-Surg/Telemetry, or Emergency Department for ICU boarders as needed
• Weekend requirement: Every other weekend (Friday-Saturday or Saturday-Monday)
• Holiday requirement: Rotational with core staff
• Dress code: Navy scrubs (solid color, no embroidery or patterns), closed-toe shoes only
• Two 12-hour orientation shifts with preceptor
• Use EPIC charting system

This acute care medical facility features an 18-bed ICU unit expanding to 27 beds, providing comprehensive critical care services. The facility maintains 24/7 hospitalist coverage with intensivist support, and offers advanced cardiac procedures and critical care technology. The ICU is equipped with modern monitoring equipment, mechanical ventilation capabilities, and specialty beds to support critically ill patients with complex medical needs.
