RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Opportunity:

RN - PCU Stepdown

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts with rotating weekends and holidays
• Cannot accommodate large blocked scheduling requests
• Maintain 1:4 nurse to patient ratio on 11-bed PCU stepdown unit
• Must have travel experience and 1-2 years critical care experience
• ICU skill set required due to floating requirements to ICU or stepdown units
• Required to float to Med-Surg Telemetry, Emergency Department for boarded PCU/ICU patients
• Care for post-op vascular patients, hemodynamically stable cardiac dysrhythmias, CVA, sepsis, renal patients, stable acute MI, unstable angina, and post cardiac cath patients
• Experience required with BiPap, CPAP, mechanical ventilation, telemetry, critical drips, and post cardiac cath care
• CRRT and IABP experience preferred
• Preferred experience with arterial lines, post fem pop, post endarterectomy, ECAR, and TVAR
• Must titrate drips including insulin, Cardizem, heparin, amiodarone, and low dose dopamine
• Work with respiratory equipment including CPAP, BiPap, high flow oxygen, mechanical ventilation via tracheostomy
• Monitor telemetry with 24/7 monitor tech support
• Assist with general care and unit clerk duties when indicated
• Required certifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS, NIHSS
• Dress code: Navy scrubs (solid color, no embroidery or patterns), closed-toe shoes only, no crocs
• Use EPIC charting system
• Complete orientation including general hospital orientation, full day nursing orientation, computer training, and two 12-hour shifts with preceptor
