Opportunity:

Surgical Technician - CVOR

Job Details:

• 13-week assignment working as a Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) Technologist
• Work as part of the surgical team delivering care in the operating room specialized in heart and vascular services
• Organize and prepare case set-ups prior to start of procedures according to standard operating procedures
• Assist Registered Nurses with circulating duties including preps, retrieving supplies, and printing pictures
• Clean, assemble, operate, and properly care for instruments, supplies, and equipment used in specialties including bronchoscopy and EGD equipment
• Assist in orientation and training of second heart scrubs
• Provide patient care according to diagnosis/procedure utilizing procedure cards and following established hospital policies
• Document procedure changes on procedure cards following each case
• Responsible for ordering and stocking supplies and printing procedure cards
• Assist Registered Nurses during on-call cases including Lab and Blood Bank coordination
• Participate in measuring and monitoring quality indicators and outcomes
• Serve as subject matter expert for vascular and endovascular procedures
• Identify and communicate unusual techniques and instruments required for complex life-saving devices
• North Dakota license required (may be registered as Unlicensed Assistive Person, RN, or LPN)
• BLS certification from American Heart Association required
• Minimum 2 years experience in cardiovascular operating room specialty required
• Travel experience required with preference for 3 completed assignments
• Must possess knowledge in sterile and aseptic technique and broad variety of surgical procedures
