RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Job Details:

• Provide cardiovascular intensive care nursing for recent open heart recovery patients
• Care for hemodynamically stable or predictably unstable patients in cardiac medical surgical unit
• Work with higher acuity patients including pediatrics, pre and post PCI care, pacemaker, revascularization, carotid endarterectomy, thoracotomy patients
• Manage patients with CHF, COPD, DKA, renal failure, DVT, PE, sepsis and broad scope of surgical services
• Operate advanced medical equipment including central lines, chest tubes, nasogastric tubes, continuous bladder irrigation, A-lines, multiple IVs
• Provide care for patients requiring short term ventilation support
• Care for general medical and surgical patients on the in-patient unit from admission to discharge
• Perform skilled assessment and intervention for potentially deteriorating conditions
• Use multiple IV pumps and operate invasive lines, noninvasive and invasive ventilatory support equipment
• Interpret basic cardiac telemetry and EKGs
• Act as clinical leader and assist with precepting staff
• Work with minimal supervision implementing established policies and procedures
• Current Montana RN licensure required
• BLS, ACLS, PALS certification required
• Recent critical care, CVICU, and open heart experience preferred
• High school diploma and degree from accredited nursing program required
