RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Job Details:

• Provide professional nursing care for assigned patients in the emergency room
• Perform triage for each patient and determine priority of care based on physical, psychological and social needs
• Conduct focused assessments of chief complaints in a timely manner according to established triage guidelines
• Make quick and accurate assessments about incoming patients, including both physical and mental health conditions
• Provide direct patient care including medication administration, transferring patients, and assisting with activities of daily living
• Manage wounds, lines, tubes, and drains as needed
• Perform and assist with medical procedures while ensuring patient safety
• Initiate and maintain accurate and concise medical records
• Communicate assessment findings to providers in a timely fashion
• Carry out provider orders and respond quickly to changes in patient condition
• Administer medications following the Five Medication Rights protocol
• Scan medications per protocol except in emergency situations
• Interact with patients, families, co-workers and providers with respect, dignity and empathy
• Address psychosocial, cultural, ethnic and religious/spiritual needs of patients and families
• Demonstrate knowledge of growth and development principles across the life span
• Provide age-appropriate care to all patient populations served
• Document patient care according to established standards and policies
• Follow hospital policy for disposing of biohazardous materials and handling all materials
• Operate and maintain knowledge of all medical equipment used in patient care
• Quick start position with immediate availability preferred
