RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Job Details:

• Current Maine nursing license or compact license required
• BSN preferred
• BLS certification required and ACLS certification preferred
• Required immunizations: varicella 2 doses or titer, HepB 3 doses or titer or declination, MMR 2 doses or titer, Tdap, PPD 2 step or titer within past 12 months
• Flu shot required during flu season
• Must have effective verbal and written communication skills and critical thinking abilities
• Knowledge base must include nursing assessment and skills for all age groups
• Physical requirements include standing, walking, sitting, kneeling, stooping, crouching, bending, reaching, lifting up to 30 lbs
• Must have visual and hearing acuity sufficient to assess patients
• Perform initial and ongoing age-appropriate nursing assessments
• Develop and implement plans of care based on patient needs and physician orders
• Document patient care activities in accordance with established standards
• Administer medications correctly utilizing the five rights through med verify
• Provide patient and family education as indicated
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and bedside rounding
• Complete discharge assessments and follow-up calls to patients
• Maintain safe working environment and ensure equipment is in working order
• Participate in emergency/disaster preparedness planning and drills
• Facility reserves the right to cancel up to 3 shifts within 12 weeks
