RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Job Details:

• Work in a small Critical Access Hospital with 10 inpatient beds and 4 emergency room beds
• Share responsibilities between inpatient floor and emergency room with one other RN
• Work collaboratively as part of a nursing team with CNAs to assist
• Assess patients' physical and psychosocial conditions throughout the continuum of care
• Develop and implement patient care plans reflecting nursing diagnoses and interventions
• Complete required documentation in an accurate and timely manner
• Utilize manual and automated information systems including T-System documentation
• Demonstrate working knowledge of equipment, instrumentation, and medications
• Act as liaison coordinating patient care activities with nurses, physicians, and allied health professionals
• Communicate patient care plans and changes to interdisciplinary team members
• Participate in performance improvement and risk management activities
• Provide patient and family education after assessing learning needs
• Complete required continuous training and education including department-specific requirements
• Comply with personal protective equipment requirements for exposure protection
• Attend meetings and in-service sessions as directed
• Initiate emergency room assessments based on presenting problems and physician diagnoses
• Collect key information from patients, families, laboratory reports, and other medical sources
• Perform therapeutic nursing interventions as ordered by providers
• Manage care for patients with various emergency room conditions
• Interact with patients and families from diverse developmental and sociocultural backgrounds
• Maintain professional relationships and communicate effectively with healthcare team members
