RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg Adult

Job Details:

• Current Maine nursing license or compact state license required
• BSN preferred
• BLS certification required and ACLS certification preferred
• Current, unexpired certifications required
• Required immunizations: varicella 2 doses or titer, HepB 3 doses or titer or declination, MMR 2 doses or titer, Tdap, PPD 2 step or titer within past 12 months
• Flu shot required during flu season
• Report to Human Resources on day 1 for onboarding process
• Perform initial and ongoing age-appropriate nursing assessments for all age groups
• Develop and implement individualized patient care plans based on physician orders
• Administer medications using the five rights through med verify system
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and bedside rounding with hospitalist and case manager
• Complete discharge planning and provide patient/family education
• Perform follow-up calls to patients
• Document patient care activities according to established standards and hospital policies
• Maintain safe physical environment for patients and staff
• Physical requirements include standing, walking, lifting up to 30 lbs, and pushing patients in wheelchairs and stretchers
• Must have visual and hearing acuity sufficient to assess patients
• Possible exposure to infectious diseases, blood borne pathogens, and toxic cleaning chemicals
• Participate in emergency/disaster preparedness planning and drills
• Facility reserves the right to cancel up to 3 shifts within 12 weeks
