Travel or Local Allied Healthcare Professional needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available

Diagnostic Imaging - Special Procedures Technologist

Job Details:

• Assist physicians and advanced practice providers with minimally invasive, image-guided procedures in routine and emergency cases
• Operate specialized imaging equipment and prepare patients for procedures
• Maintain sterile environment during procedures including injections, angiography, biopsies, tube placements, and thrombolysis
• Complete patient chart reviews to verify exam orders and validate reasons for examinations
• Review patient eligibility based on medications and NPO status
• Interview patients regarding personal history, implanted devices, and contrast allergies
• Explain procedures to patients and maintain safe, comfortable environment
• Provide pre- and post-procedure patient care including patient education and discharge instructions
• Adjust, maintain, and operate imaging equipment following applicable guidelines to acquire high-quality diagnostic images
• Monitor vital signs when applicable and manage supplies and equipment for procedures
• Administer contrast under radiologist supervision and monitor patients for adverse reactions
• Implement radiation protection techniques following ALARA guidelines to minimize exposure
• Maintain accurate records in clinical documentation systems and manage imaging data in PACS
• Document procedures in EMR and ensure proper storage and retrieval of images
• Work closely with radiologists and healthcare professionals
• Respond in emergency situations including providing Basic Life Support
• Required: R.T.(R) certification by ARRT OR advanced credentials R.T.(VI), R.T.(CV), R.T.(CI), or RCIS
• Preferred: 1-2 years of experience
• Subject to downstaffing with 36/48 hours notice during 13-week contract
