Ultrasound Tech - Ultrasound Tech

Job Details:

• Work 4x10 hour day shifts with 36 guaranteed hours per week
• 13-week assignment duration
• Perform breast imaging procedures including mammography, stereotactic breast biopsy, breast ultrasound and breast ultrasound biopsy assistance
• Follow MQSA and ACR guidelines for breast imaging procedures
• Demonstrate knowledge of breast anatomy, pathological conditions and safe radiation administration
• Operate mammography and stereotactic equipment using proper protocols and sterile techniques
• Conduct and document quality control to ensure equipment meets safety limits
• Educate patients before, during, and after breast imaging procedures
• Review breast imaging examinations for technical accuracy and present to radiologist
• Schedule breast imaging appointments and coordinate exams for continuity of care
• Manage department workflow and ensure proper patient charges
• Organize and monitor medical supply inventory
• Participate in orientation of new employees and healthcare professionals
• Maintain 24 CEU credits per A.R.R.T. guidelines every two years
• Required certifications: American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) with Mammography (M), Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Must maintain current CPR certification and HIPAA compliance
• 1 year of experience preferred, healthcare experience preferred
• Must obtain computer skills within 90 days for online requirements
• Physical demands include standing 40%, sitting 20%, walking 20%, with occasional lifting up to 35 lbs
• Provide care for patients from adolescence through geriatric populations
