RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Job Details:

• Provide patient care through comprehensive nursing process including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation and evaluation
• Direct and coordinate nursing care for patients based on established nursing practice standards
• Care for patients from birth to elderly during pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative phases
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to deliver quality, cost-effective and efficient patient care
• Apply age-specific considerations and cultural diversity when providing patient care
• Serve as resource person when situations require specialized knowledge
• Minimum 1-2 years of OR experience required
• Associate Degree in Nursing required, BSN preferred
• Must be licensed in good standing as Registered Professional Nurse in Alaska
• Current BLS & ACLS required, PALS preferred
• National Certification in Surgery/PACU preferred
• Knowledge of AORN standards required
• Must demonstrate proficient oral and written communication skills
• Ability to work flexible schedule and take independent actions within prescribed limits
• Required to pass and maintain competencies for position
• Work with medical equipment including cardiac monitors and autoclave systems
• Supervisory responsibilities for administrative assistants, schedulers, and CSR technicians in collaboration with Charge Nurse
