RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Job Details:

• Provide professional nursing care to patients undergoing surgical procedures as the patient's advocate in the operating room
• Manage overall nursing care in the OR and ensure a safe and sterile environment
• Coordinate the surgical team and maintain accountability for supplies, equipment, and documentation
• Verify patient identity, surgical site, consent, and history while performing preoperative assessments
• Prepare OR suite with necessary equipment, supplies, and instruments prior to procedures
• Monitor and maintain aseptic/sterile technique and report any breaks in technique
• Manage non-sterile aspects of procedures including opening sterile supplies and handling specimens
• Account for all sponges, sharps, and instruments through surgical counts
• Continuously assess patient status, vital signs, and physiological responses
• Document nursing care, medications, implants, supplies, and patient responses in electronic health record
• Maintain inventory of supplies and ensure functionality of equipment
• Assist with patient transfer to PACU or other units and provide hand-off reports
• Respond promptly to emergencies including trauma activations and code situations
• Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours surgical emergencies
• Work in resource-limited setting with flexibility to assist in other perioperative areas as needed
• Minimum 1-2 years of Operating Room experience as a Circulator strongly preferred
• Required certifications: Current RN license, BLS (AHA), ACLS (or obtain within 6 months)
• PALS and CNOR certifications preferred
• ADN or BSN from accredited nursing program required (BSN preferred)
• Compact nursing license accepted
