RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Job Details:

• Coordinate and perform nursing care procedures for patients of all ages in emergency department
• Work independently making clinical decisions during scheduled shifts
• Maintain complete accountability for all actions taken during patient care
• React calmly and make sound nursing judgments in emergent situations
• Delegate and supervise CNA/Tech staff appropriately
• Administer age-specific medications and therapeutics accurately
• Demonstrate knowledge of emergency equipment use including defibrillators, monitors, EKG machines
• Assist with emergency procedures such as intubations, arterial line setup, thoracentesis
• Complete thorough nursing admission databases and initial patient assessments
• Document patient responses to care and maintain confidentiality of patient information
• Provide patient and family education regarding procedures and discharge instructions
• Participate in patient care conferences and staff meetings
• Must have current Alaska RN license upon hire
• Required certifications: BLS and PALS upon hire, ACLS within 6 months
• One year clinical nursing experience preferred
• Prior emergency department experience preferred
• Must submit 2 fingerprint cards immediately upon acceptance
• Must live at least 50+ miles away from facility address
• Comply with dress code and departmental scheduling guidelines
