RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Job Details:

• Must have current Alaska nursing license at time of submission
• Must have/obtain flu vaccination
• BLS and PALS certification required upon hire
• ACLS must be obtained within 6 months of hire date
• TNCC/ATCN and NRP certification required within first 6 months of employment
• One year clinical nursing experience preferred
• Prior emergency department experience preferred
• Coordinate and perform nursing care procedures for patients of all ages
• Work independently making clinical decisions during scheduled shifts
• Maintain accountability for all actions taken during shift
• Delegate and supervise CNA/Tech staff appropriately
• React calmly and make sound nursing judgments in emergent situations
• Administer age-specific medications and therapeutics accurately
• Operate and monitor basic medical equipment including defibrillators, monitors, EKG machines
• Assist with emergency procedures such as intubations and arterial line setup
• Complete thorough nursing assessments and documentation
• Provide patient and family education
• Participate in at least 50% of departmental staff meetings
• Complete annual competencies and maintain certifications
• Must live at least 50+ miles away from facility address
• Start date will be no less than 5 weeks after fingerprint processing
