Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg

Job Details:

• Work 3x12 hour shifts with 36 guaranteed hours per week
• This is an acuity adaptable unit where patients range from Med Surg level to PCU/stepdown/ICU level of care
• Patient ratios range from 1:4-6 depending on acuity type and patient needs
• Float position that may be assigned to inpatient PCU unit - PCU experience required
• Boarding unit where patients come from ED and are boarded until discharge or moved to inpatient unit
• 4-bed unit that can expand to 8-10 beds with staffing adjusted based on acuity and need
• Team nursing environment working with RN/LPN - must be comfortable with delegation
• Weekend requirement: every other weekend
• Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
• High-paced ED hold unit that could see up to 15 admissions per day due to constant turnover
• May be asked to take higher ratios during high influx periods
• 2 years of experience required with travel experience mandatory
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Cerner charting system experience required
• No on-call requirements
• Local candidates not accepted
• Must be comfortable managing patients of all acuity levels from Med Surg to ICU level care
• Skills include blood product administration, central line care, heparin protocols, cardiac drips, telemetry monitoring, and ventilated patient care
