Opportunity:

RN - PICU

Job Details:

• Work 3x12 or 4x12 hour shifts with rotating schedule capability
• Guaranteed 36 hours per week with facility allowed to call off 3 times during 13-week assignment
• Patient ratio of 1:2 for all shifts
• Required to work 4 weekend shifts per schedule for day shift and 4-5 for night shift
• Float to NICU required and may serve as resource in Pediatrics ED for IVs and medications
• Minimum 1.5 years PICU experience required (recent within last 2 years)
• Level I Trauma facility experience required
• Required certifications: BLS, PALS, New Mexico License
• Special procedures experience needed: CRRT, ECMO, ventilators, inotropic drips
• Care for patients with respiratory distress/failure, renal failure, trauma, ECMO, hematology/oncology, multi-system organ failure
• Use Cerner charting system
• 36-hour orientation required
• Black scrubs required (not provided)
• No on-call responsibilities
• Overtime requires pre-approval and is rarely granted
• RQI certifications not accepted

Facility:

This is a Level I Trauma Center and Children's Hospital serving as a teaching facility with 554 total staffed beds. The facility operates as a short-term acute care hospital with a 20-bed PICU unit maintaining a daily census of approximately 15 patients. The hospital provides comprehensive pediatric care with interdisciplinary support including physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and unit secretary support. As a Certified Comprehensive Stroke Center, the facility maintains high standards for specialized care and requires strict compliance protocols.
