Description
Opportunity:
RN - Med Surg
Job Details:
• Specializes in post-operative GI and wound care on an inpatient Med/Surg unit
• Patient ratio of 6:1 for days, nights, and weekends
• 24-hour orientation required
• Weekend coverage required with every other holiday
• Float required with agency floated first to all other inpatient units
• May receive Med Surg overflow patients
• Must have minimum 2 years experience in Med/Surg specialty
• Post-operative experience required with full-time post-op unit experience
• Minimum of one completed travel contract required
• Must be over 65 miles from facility (no local travelers accepted)
• Epic charting system preferred
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS (AHA certifications required)
• Louisiana Compact license or LA license required in hand upon submittal
• NURSYS reports required (within 4 weeks of submission)
• Emergency Team assignment possible during emergency events with expectation to stay until event passes
• Patient diagnoses include pancreatitis, GI bleeds, bowel obstructions, wound infections, post-op infections
• Special procedures include pancreatectomy, Whipple, bariatric surgery, colectomy, mastectomy
• Equipment experience required: PEG, PEJ, PCA, surgical drains, wound vac, colostomy, ileostomy management
• Skills required: colostomy care, wound care, central line management, blood product administration

I am an Adult Cardiac Sonographer and I have been traveling for almost 3 years now and pretty much all the time with ADEX Healthcare staffing. I always look around for all the options as most of travelers do, but end up with this company, because They don’t fail me! Good competitive rates and always attention. Vincent Poast is the guy you want to deal with no matter what is your experience in traveling and profession. He always explains all pros and cons of a contract. I feel like he is on my side compared to other recruiters. The most important part for me that he always answers my calls and texts no matter if it’s a weekend or after hours! Also, if he can’t help me directly, he would get a ADEX staff member who resolves an issue right the way. The whole team has been very helpful for almost 6 contracts now. Oh, and another very important thing for me that Vince never pushes to get into a contract and bothers like a lot of other recruiters that calling and texting day and night. He lets you decide what you really want !
