Description

Opportunity:

RN - Stepdown

Job Details:

• Work night shifts only, 36 hours per week
• 13-26 week contract assignments accepted
• Patient ratios vary by acuity: 1:4 for surgical step down, 1:5-6 for lower acuity
• Weekend requirement: 4 weekends per 4 weeks (flexible scheduling)
• Float requirement: Will follow unit rotation, not first to float
• 24-hour orientation required
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start
• Navy scrubs required
• Minimum 2 years cardiac floor experience required
• Travel experience required unless candidate has more than 24 months cardiac experience
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• Required skills: Cardiac telemetry, PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown, sheath removal, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, post MI care, pre/post cardiac cath, cardiac drip management and titration, chest tubes, external CPAP/BIPAP, non-invasive airway management
• Preferred skills: Arterial line management, wound care/wound vac, charge experience
• Work with special equipment including Doppler, bladder scanner, EKG, femoral sheaths, TR band, Fem-stop, chest tubes, epicardial pacing wires
• Use EPIC documentation system and Pyxis medication system
• Care for patients with conditions including atrial fibrillation, CHF, ACS, CAD, endocarditis, cardiomyopathy, and various cardiac procedures
• Must be available to work storm team/hurricane team during catastrophic events
• Cannot work more than 5 consecutive days or 60 hours per week
• Complete 8-10 hours of non-billable modules pre-start and annually
• Interview required for all candidates

The facility features advanced cardiac services including a full range of cardiac surgeries, interventional procedures, and specialized cardiac care units. The organization provides extensive interdisciplinary support including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams to ensure comprehensive patient care in a 44-bed cardiac stepdown unit.

I am an Adult Cardiac Sonographer and I have been traveling for almost 3 years now and pretty much all the time with ADEX Healthcare staffing. I always look around for all the options as most of travelers do, but end up with this company, because They don’t fail me! Good competitive rates and always attention. Vincent Poast is the guy you want to deal with no matter what is your experience in traveling and profession. He always explains all pros and cons of a contract. I feel like he is on my side compared to other recruiters. The most important part for me that he always answers my calls and texts no matter if it’s a weekend or after hours! Also, if he can’t help me directly, he would get a ADEX staff member who resolves an issue right the way. The whole team has been very helpful for almost 6 contracts now. Oh, and another very important thing for me that Vince never pushes to get into a contract and bothers like a lot of other recruiters that calling and texting day and night. He lets you decide what you really want !
