Description
Opportunity:
RN - ER
Job Details:
• Work 36 or 48 hour shifts with guaranteed contracted hours per week
• Patient ratio of 1:5 across all shifts (days, nights, weekends)
• 2 years of experience required; Level I Trauma experience preferred
• Travel experience strongly preferred, though 2+ years Level I experience may be considered
• Weekend coverage required as needed (Saturday/Sunday days, Friday/Saturday/Sunday nights)
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIH, PALS, TNCC (must have TNCC before submission)
• New Mexico nursing license required (can pend at time of submission)
• No RQI certifications accepted
• Floating to Pediatric ED is optional; floating to Adult PCUs and ED Holding is expected based on staffing needs
• Provide medication administration including IV medications via seven medication rights
• Document and communicate clinical findings using Cerner charting system
• Handle Level I trauma cases with approximately 60%-80% of patients being admitted
• Manage patients with trauma, resuscitation needs, and emergency conditions
• Work with specialized equipment for arterial lines, central lines, IV vasopressors, and ventilated patients
• 24-hour orientation required with additional modules completed during first week
• Black scrubs required (not provided by facility)
• No locals within 75 miles accepted
• Overtime requires prior client approval and is rarely granted
• Facility may call off up to 3 times during 13-week assignment

This is a comprehensive Level I Trauma Center and Children's Hospital serving as a teaching facility with 554 staffed beds. The emergency department operates as a high-acuity environment handling 170-200 daily census with approximately 175 visits per day across 53 rooms and 68 beds. The facility maintains certification as a Comprehensive Stroke Center and provides specialized services including trauma care, neurosciences, and pediatric emergency services. The organization emphasizes strict compliance standards and maintains rigorous protocols for patient care and staff qualifications.

Vincent Poast is the guy you want to deal with no matter what is your experience in traveling and profession. He always explains all pros and cons of a contract. I feel like he is on my side compared to other recruiters. The most important part for me that he always answers my calls and texts no matter if it’s a weekend or after hours! Also, if he can’t help me directly, he would get a ADEX staff member who resolves an issue right the way. The whole team has been very helpful for almost 6 contracts now. Oh, and another very important thing for me that Vince never pushes to get into a contract and bothers like a lot of other recruiters that calling and texting day and night. He lets you decide what you really want !
