Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg

Job Details:

• 2 years of nursing experience required; first-time travelers accepted
• Patient population: Adults to Geriatrics
• Patient ratio: 1:6 on a 34-bed unit with average daily census of 27
• Required certifications: BLS and NIH (ACLS preferred)
• Every other weekend schedule required
• Floating within facility required
• No call requirements
• Maximum 7 days requested time off allowed
• Holiday work requirements based on assignment period (work 1-2 holidays if they fall during assignment)
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Use Epic and Pyxis systems with SBAR communication
• 12-hour orientation with non-billable hours determined by contract length
• Care for patients with diagnoses including appendicitis, cholecystitis, small bowel obstruction, pneumonia, COPD exacerbation, sepsis, hypertension, and blood sugar disorders
• Manage post-operative patients from prostatectomy, appendectomy, cholecystectomy, ostomy procedures, and bowel resections
• Work with equipment including NGT, chest tubes, feeding tubes, and wound vacs
• Full compliance required to start on time with bi-weekly orientation schedule
• Clinical screening required for candidate approval
