Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg

Job Details:

• Must start on 1/5
• 2 years of nursing experience required
• Travel experience preferred
• Patient ratio of 5:1 for days, nights, and weekends
• Care for adults and geriatrics with daily census of 10-13 patients
• One call shift per 6 week schedule
• 6 weekend shifts per 6 week schedule required (Saturday/Sunday is a weekend shift)
• 40 hours of orientation provided
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Allscripts charting system experience preferred
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Must be comfortable with accessing/managing ports, blood product administration, central line blood draws, chest tubes, colostomy care, CBI, CPAP/BiPAP, feeding tube management, telemetry, wound care, and other med-surg procedures
• Patient diagnoses include post-op, ortho, diabetes, pneumonia, wound care, CBI, and URO cases
• Med-surg unit with no telemetry monitoring or cardiovascular drips
• 13-bed unit with interdisciplinary support including PT, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
• Must complete drug screen upon arrival including marijuana testing
• Must be at least 50 miles from facility (may consider case by case basis)
• Hard document deadline: Thursday 2pm CST prior to start
• 6-8 hours of non-billable modules completed during orientation
