Opportunity:

Registered Nurse - PCU

Job Details:

• Work in Surgical PCU with almost ICU level acuity
• Patient ratio of 1:3-4
• 48 hours of orientation provided
• Weekend coverage required - 6 weekends per 13-week contract
• Work every other weekend per contract with possible consecutive weekends based on operational needs
• Self-scheduling system
• Pre-approved time off available for two periods
• Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
• Floating required to different levels of care (Med-Surg, PCU, ICU) - refusal to float may result in contract termination
• May be assigned charge nurse responsibilities with training and resources provided
• Teaching facility requiring agreement to precept students and/or have students shadow
• Call-in policy requiring makeup shifts during pay period or added to end of contract
• Minimum 2 years experience required
• Required certifications: ACLS and BCLS
• Experience required with cardiac monitoring, chest tubes, fresh trachs, feeding tube care, epidurals, non-titratable cardiac drips, IV insulin protocols, external BiPAP/CPAP, total laryngectomy, and Doppler flap checks
• Care for adult patients with daily census of 24
• 34-bed unit treating ENT, Thoracic, General Surgery, Urology patients and medical overflow
• First time travelers accepted
• Cerner charting system preferred
• Trauma Level I experience preferred
