Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg Tele

Job Details:

• Work in a 26-bed orthopedic spine telemetry unit providing specialized care for post-operative spinal surgery patients
• Patient ratio up to 1:6, normally 1:5
• Must have strong cardiac experience required
• Care for patients post-operative from spinal surgeries including laminectomies, spinal fusions, and discectomies
• Manage comprehensive care including pain management, physical therapy, and mobility support
• Handle ER overflow patients for observation and medical/surgical telemetry
• 2 years of nursing experience required
• Previous charge experience preferred
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, Dysrhythmia certification
• Must have 1+ years of recent EPIC EMR experience
• Self-scheduling system
• Weekend coverage required with 6 weekend shifts per contract
• 12 hours of orientation provided
• Pre-assignment testing and modules required within 48 hours
• Must be willing to float to other qualified units as needed
• Flu vaccine required with no exemptions
• Work with telemetry, bedside pulse oximetry, dinamaps, and glucometers
• Perform bedside lumbar punctures, post-catheterization care, and manage heparin drips
• Treat patients with various diagnoses including cardiac conditions, neurology cases, diabetes, hypertension, and COPD
