Opportunity:

Registered Nurse - PCU

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Three shifts per week (3x12s) with rotating weekends
• Patient ratio of 5:1 for days, nights, and weekends
• Float required as needed across all facilities
• One holiday and one evening shift required during holiday periods
• 24 hours of orientation provided
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• First time travelers accepted
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH Stroke Scale
• Neuro PCU experience required
• Previous Charge RN experience preferred
• Epic charting system experience required
• Must pass EKG exam (Pass/Fail) with 2 attempts allowed
• Experience with CVA, External CPAP/BiPAP, TR band, Yale Swallowing screen required
• Care for medical neurological patients including stroke, seizure disorders, traumatic brain injury, and movement disorders
• Skills include central line care, telemetry monitoring, tracheostomy care, and PICC line management
• Staff scheduled for 6-week periods via self-assisted scheduling through Optilink
• Zero-tolerance policy for tardiness and unexcused absences
• Two pre-approved time off periods allowed
• Adult patient population with daily census of 30 patients

Facility:

This major healthcare facility features a 30-bed Medical Neuroscience Progressive Care department with primary focus on caring for medical neurological patients. The facility provides comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and interpretation services. A Centralized Cardiac Monitoring Department provides continuous monitoring surveillance for patients, and the facility utilizes advanced technology and protocols for neurological care including stroke treatment and seizure monitoring.
