Opportunity:

RN - PICU

Job Details:

• Rotating shift schedule
• 2:1 patient ratio for days, nights, and weekends
• Must have minimum 2 years of experience
• First-time travelers accepted
• Required certifications: BCLS and PALS
• Must be able to float to NICU and PEDS units
• Will float to pediatrics and pediatric emergency department if needed
• 40 hours of orientation required
• 3 weekend shifts per schedule required
• Two pre-approved time off periods allowed
• Valid Maryland or Compact nursing license required
• Experience with Cerner charting system required
• Care for patients with respiratory distress/failure, DKA, seizures, pain management, and sepsis
• Perform moderate sedation, manage drips, arterial lines, and central lines/CVP
• Work with specialized equipment including vents, high flow nasal cannula, and BIPAP/CPAP
• Patient age groups include infants, pediatrics, and adolescents
• 6-bed unit with interdisciplinary support from physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, radiology, social services, pharmacy, transportation, and unit secretary
• Complete 8 hours of non-billable modules on first day, with annual modules varying by specialty (75-175 minutes)
• Maximum assignment length of 365 days with required 6-month separation period before returning
