Opportunity:

Registered Nurse - PACU

Job Details:

• Block scheduling with 2:1 patient ratios for days, nights, and weekends
• 7-8 call shifts required in a 6-week period
• Weekend coverage consists of 24-hour call shifts on Saturday or Sunday from 7:00 AM to 7:00 AM the following day
• 2 weekend call shifts required in a 6-week period
• Float within facility/scope of practice as needed
• 36 hours of orientation required
• Must work major holidays if they fall during assignment period
• Minimum 1 year of experience required, unit accepts first-time travelers
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS
• Epic charting system experience required
• Care for patients of all age groups: adolescents, adults, pediatrics, geriatrics
• Daily census of 15 patients with 8 beds available
• Perform Phase I PACU care including arterial line management, dysrhythmia recognition, blood product administration
• Manage central line care, IV vasopressors, narcotics/opioid analgesics, and reversal agents
• Handle post-anesthesia care for general, local, MAC, nerve blocks, and spinal procedures
• Manage pain assessment, PCA pumps, and post-epidural care
• Work with various surgical specialties including ENT, general, gynecology, neurology, ophthalmology, orthopedics, and vascular
• Georgia or Compact license required at time of submittal
