Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg Tele

Job Details:

• Float pool position covering Med-Surg, Telemetry, and discharge lounge units
• Float to various units including 12-bed Med-Surg discharge unit, four 23-bed Med-Surg/Tele units, and 4-bed Med-Surg float unit
• 1:4 patient ratios maintained
• Every other weekend coverage required
• Float required to multiple units as needed
• Care for adult and geriatric patient populations
• 2 years of nursing experience required
• First-time travelers accepted
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, CPI
• 64 hours of orientation provided
• Guaranteed hours: 40 hours per week for 8 and 10-hour shifts, 36 hours per week for 12-hour shifts
• Documentation system: Cerner (EPIC preferred)
• Medication system: Pyxis
• Skills include blood product administration, isolation precautions, nasal cannula, oxygen administration, PCA, peripheral line care, phlebotomy, PICC line management, skin grafts, IV management, surgical drains, and wound care
• Interdisciplinary support available including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
• Must maintain Alaska nursing license prior to start date
• Minimum 100-mile radius requirement from permanent residence
