Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg Tele

Job Details:

• 36 or 48 hour contracts available
• Patient ratios of 1:5 (possible 1:6) for days, nights, and weekends
• Hospital operates at over 100% capacity
• Floating required to MS/Tele, PCU and lower acuity settings within skillset; float to ED ratios are 1:5
• 1 year of experience required; first-timers accepted
• 2 weekend shifts required per 4 week schedule (may vary by unit depending on needs)
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIH Stroke Scale
• No on-call requirements
• Must be comfortable with IV starts and telemetry monitoring
• Care for adult and geriatric patients with conditions including heart failure, COPD, stroke, trauma, sepsis, and various medical diagnoses
• Work with Phillips cardiac monitors and expect majority of floors to be primary nursing with limited ancillary support
• New Mexico license can be pending at time of submission
• No locals within 75 miles accepted
• Guaranteed contracted hours per week with facility allowed to call off 3 times throughout 13-week assignment
• Black scrubs required (not provided)
• Use Cerner charting system
• COVID vaccination required with religious and medical exemptions accepted
• Flu vaccination required with medical/religious exemptions only
• RQI certifications not accepted
• Overtime after 48 hours and must be pre-approved by facility

This is a Level I Trauma Center and Children's Hospital that operates as a teaching facility providing short-term acute care services. With 554 staffed beds, the facility maintains comprehensive interdisciplinary support including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and various specialized services. The hospital is designated as a Certified Comprehensive Stroke Center and operates above 100% capacity, requiring dedicated nursing professionals to deliver high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment.
