Opportunity:

Registered Nurse - PCU

Job Details:

• Work alternating day and night shifts with block scheduling
• Patient ratios of 1:3 for days, nights, and weekends
• Every other weekend coverage required
• May float to take PCU assignments in the ICU when needed
• Care for adult and geriatric patients
• 24-hour orientation period provided
• Work with patient diagnoses including CKD, ESRD, DMII, CHF, COPD, GIB, and post-operative patients
• Handle special procedures involving long-term ventilators and tracheostomies
• Use Pyxis medication system and Cerner documentation system
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS*, CPI*
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Trauma Level II experience required
• 2 years of experience required (may consider less based on specific experience)
• First-time travelers accepted
• Must have Alaska license prior to starting
• Minimum 100-mile radius requirement applies

The Progressive Care Unit features 8 beds across 6 rooms with a daily census of 8 patients. The facility offers extensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, lift teams, rapid response teams, and pharmacy services. The organization maintains high standards for patient care and utilizes modern technology and equipment to support critical care needs.
