Opportunity:

Registered Nurse - PCU

Job Details:

• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
• Patient ratios of 1:3-4
• Work every other weekend with 6 weekends per 13-week contract
• 48 hours of orientation provided
• Self-scheduling system
• Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
• Required certifications: ACLS and BLS
• Must be proficient in cardiac monitoring, chest tube management, fresh tracheostomies, feeding tube care, epidurals, IV insulin protocols, and external BiPAP/CPAP
• Experience with total laryngectomy and Doppler flap checks required
• Floating to different levels of care (Med-Surg, PCU, ICU) is mandatory - refusal may result in contract termination
• May be required to precept students and provide charge nurse coverage with training
• Call-in policy requires makeup shifts or extension of contract
• First time travelers accepted
• Charting system experience with Cerner preferred
• Previous charge experience and Trauma Level I experience preferred
• 34-bed unit with daily census of 24 patients treating adult patients only
