Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg

Job Details:

• Must start on 1/5 or 1/19
• Work with adult and geriatric patient population
• Patient ratio of 5:1 for days, nights, and weekends
• Daily census of 10-13 patients in 13-bed unit
• Weekend coverage required - 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule
• One call shift per 6-week schedule
• 40 hours of orientation required
• 2 years of experience required with travel experience preferred
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Allscripts charting system experience preferred
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Must be comfortable with med-surg unit operations (no telemetry monitoring or cardiovascular drips)
• Handle patient diagnoses including post-op, ortho, diabetes, pneumonia, wound care, CBI, and URO cases
• Skills required include accessing/managing ports, blood product administration, central line care, chest tubes, colostomy care, CPAP/BiPAP, feeding tube management, and various other medical-surgical competencies
• Interdisciplinary support available including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
• Must complete lab requirements within 72 hours of accepting offer
• Drug screening conducted upon arrival including marijuana testing
• Must reside at least 150 miles from facility
