Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg Tele

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• 3x12 shift schedule with every other weekend coverage required
• Must maintain 5:1 patient ratio for days, nights, and weekends
• Float required within skillset
• 2 years of nursing experience required
• First-time travelers accepted
• Must successfully pass Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with minimum 80% overall score and 100% on lethal rhythms
• Required certifications: ACLS and BLS
• Compact license or MD license required
• 24 hours of orientation provided
• Skills required include large orthopedic program (total joints), colorectal surgeries, vascular procedures, and bariatric surgery
• Work with specialized equipment including patient lifts, PCA pumps, chest tubes, telemetry monitoring, and capnography
• Care for patients with diagnoses including diabetes, CHF, infections, sepsis, COPD, and general surgery cases
• Expected to manage telemetry monitoring, IV access, wound care, tracheostomy care, and various other nursing skills
• Work with interdisciplinary support teams including PT, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams

This healthcare facility operates a comprehensive Med Surg Telemetry unit with 44 beds and 34 rooms, maintaining a daily census of approximately 32 patients. The facility features a robust orthopedic program and handles a variety of surgical cases including colorectal, vascular, and bariatric procedures. The unit is equipped with modern technology and provides comprehensive support services including rapid response teams, pharmacy services, and various therapeutic departments to ensure quality patient care.
