Description
Opportunity:
RN - Med Surg
Job Details:
• Work 4x12 day shifts (48 hours per week)
• Patient ratio of 6:1 utilizing team nursing model
• 2 years recent experience minimum required (strictly enforced)
• Level I Trauma experience required
• Travel experience required
• Large hospital experience required
• On-call as needed
• Weekend coverage as needed
• First-time travelers not accepted
• Must live at least 100 miles from facility
• No pending licenses accepted - must comply with NLC guidelines
• Required certifications: BLS, NIHSS
• Skills include administering chemotherapy, conscious sedation, IV starts
• Care for adult and geriatric patients
• Work with primary surgical oncology patients with medical oncology overflow
• Handle patients with central lines (PAC, PICC lines, midlines)
• Perform wound care, drains, ostomies, and Foleys
• Work with PCA pumps and chemotherapy patients (ONS nurses only)
• Limited phlebotomy coverage at night
• 45-bed unit with daily census of 30-35 patients
• Flu vaccine required with no exemptions
• Must work 2 of 3 major holidays if they fall during assignment
• All requested time off must be submitted at time of application

This facility is a short-term acute care Level I Trauma Center that provides comprehensive medical and surgical services. The medical-surgical unit specializes in oncology care with a 45-bed floor that primarily serves surgical oncology patients along with medical oncology and general medical-surgical overflow. The facility offers extensive interdisciplinary support including physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, radiology, social services, lift teams, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and transportation services.

I am an Adult Cardiac Sonographer and I have been traveling for almost 3 years now and pretty much all the time with ADEX Healthcare staffing. I always look around for all the options as most of travelers do, but end up with this company, because They don’t fail me! Good competitive rates and always attention. Vincent Poast is the guy you want to deal with no matter what is your experience in traveling and profession. He always explains all pros and cons of a contract. I feel like he is on my side compared to other recruiters. The most important part for me that he always answers my calls and texts no matter if it’s a weekend or after hours! Also, if he can’t help me directly, he would get a ADEX staff member who resolves an issue right the way. The whole team has been very helpful for almost 6 contracts now. Oh, and another very important thing for me that Vince never pushes to get into a contract and bothers like a lot of other recruiters that calling and texting day and night. He lets you decide what you really want !
