Opportunity:

Registered Nurse - PCU

Job Details:

• Work on a 32-bed mixed acuity unit with 15 PCU beds and 17 Med-Surg beds
• Care for cardio-pulmonary patients with emphasis on advanced pulmonary conditions
• Primary patient population includes COPD, CHF, pulmonary fibrosis, lung cancer, lung transplant patients, tracheostomies, and stable trach-to-ventilator patients
• PCU patient ratio 1:4, Med-Surg ratio 1:5-6, may have mixed assignments of 4-5 patients
• Work every other weekend per contract, consecutive weekends may be required based on operational needs
• Floating required to different levels of care (Med-Surg, PCU, ICU) within hospital or affiliate hospitals
• May be expected to provide charge nurse coverage with training and resources provided
• Possibility of precepting and/or having students shadow during assignment
• Required certifications: ACLS and BLS
• Minimum 2 years experience required, will consider Med-Surg RN with ICU and PCU patient experience plus additional 2 years
• Travel experience required
• Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
• Call-in policy requires makeup shifts during pay period or added to end of contract
• Charge experience preferred or willingness to train as charge required
• Flu vaccine required with medical/religious exemptions only
• Skills include managing ports, arterial lines, blood products, cardiac telemetry, ventilated patients, central lines, feeding tubes, cardiac drips, and tracheostomy care
