Opportunity:

Registered Nurse - PACU

Job Details:

• Work in Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) with 1:2 patient ratios
• Guaranteed 36 hours per week with facility allowed to call off 3 times during 13-week assignment
• Weekend requirement: one weekend per month
• On-call requirement: 1-2 overnight call shifts monthly (4-week schedule)
• Must float within scope to holding area in PACU department with ratios of 1:3-5
• 2 years of experience required with MUST have Level 1 trauma and telemetry experience
• Care for patients of all ages: neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
• Handle daily census of 35+ cases across 36 beds
• Required certifications: BCLS, ACLS, PALS (RQI certifications NOT accepted)
• Must perform pre/post cath lab procedures and pre/post IR procedures
• Must be willing to perform pre-operative duties
• Black scrubs required
• Charting system: Cerner
• 24-hour orientation provided
• First-time travelers accepted upon client screening
• No locals within 75-mile radius accepted
• Pending license accepted
• RTO restrictions: Greater than 7 days requires approval
• OT after 48 hours (contracts signed on or after 10/30/2025)
• OT must be pre-approved by client and approval is rare

This is a Level I Trauma, teaching, and children's hospital providing comprehensive short-term acute care services. The facility operates 554 staffed beds and serves as a certified comprehensive stroke center. The organization provides extensive interdisciplinary support including physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and transportation services. The hospital offers diverse surgical services including general surgery, ENT, robotic procedures, open heart surgery, kidney transplant, orthopedics, neurosurgery, urology, endoscopy, ECTs, wound care, anesthesia mobile procedures, and cath lab/MRI recovery.
