Opportunity:

RN - CVICU

Job Details:

• Work in a mixed acuity unit with ICU ratios of 1:2 and rare acute acuity ratios of 1:3-4
• Choose from 8-hour, 10-hour, or 12-hour shift options
• Guaranteed hours: 40 hours per week for 8/10-hour shifts, 36 hours for three 12-hour shifts, or 48 hours for four 12-hour shifts
• Every other weekend requirement with 6 weekend shifts per contract
• Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
• 36 hours of orientation required
• Required certifications: ACLS and BCLS; NIH preferred
• 18 months of experience required, first-time travelers accepted
• Previous charge experience preferred
• Must be comfortable floating within hospital scope and to affiliate hospitals
• Dress code: black bottoms and red top
• Use Cerner charting system
• Free parking provided
• Care for cardiovascular surgery, thoracic surgery, cardiology, endocrine, and oncology patients
• Manage patients with CABG, TAVR, SAVR, MVR, and VATS procedures
• Required skills include arterial line management, blood product administration, central line care, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, cardiac and vasoactive drip titration
• Preferred skills include intra-aortic balloon pump, pre/post cardiac cath procedures, sheath removal, and ventricular assist device care
• Care for ventilated patients with ventilator management experience
• Work in all private rooms with overhead lifts and telemetry monitoring

This short-term acute care facility features 210 staffed beds and specializes in cardiovascular and thoracic surgical services. The facility maintains a 30-bed CVICU with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams. The organization offers modern equipment and private patient rooms designed to provide optimal care for complex cardiovascular cases and mixed acuity patients.
